Thomas Wolsey School accepts children with physical and learning needs. Many children also have complex medical and/or sensory needs. We cater for children between three and sixteen years.
All admissions are determined by the Local Authority.
The Primary Department accepts children aged between three and eleven years of age, and the Secondary Department accepts children aged between eleven and sixteen years of age.
Children can enter the Nursery in the term after their third birthday and many have a dual placement with a pre-school setting.  Whilst in the Nursery, the children will be assessed to determine whether a referral for an Educational Health Care Plan is required, if this is not already in place.  Children are usually offered two mornings in the Nursery leading to a full time place when they reach reception age.
All children of statutory school age, and above, must have an Educational Health Care plan to attend the school.
At the end of Year 6 the pupils will transfer to the Secondary Department and at the end of Year 11 the students will transfer to local post-16 providers.
Children are placed in classes according to their age range and individual needs.
If you think that Thomas Wolsey meets the needs of your son/daughter please contact the school for a visit.  We are always happy to show you around.  If you would like your son/daughter to attend Thomas Wolsey you then need to contact the Local Authority (Tel: 0808 800 4005) and the case will be discussed at the termly admissions meeting.
